Sir Winston Churchill, Sevenoaks

Having finished a successful watercolour of Kippington Road in Sevenoaks (it is gone to a new owner 😉) , I decided to revisit the site to find out where the famous house of Sir Winston Churchill was..

Going up the hill to the house that is situated not far from the church.

The first house must have been the lodge presumably for the keepers of the main property.

Sir Winston Churchill gave this house in 1949 as a convalescence place to service men and women. 20,000 of them staid in this environment. It was sold in 1979
