Why coriander was revolting!

Coriander, was a total mystery to me!!!

Years ago, my husband grew Coriander in the garden.

The first time I used it, I thought it was revolting.

It was tasting of soap. I sincerely thought he had planted the wrong plant or something else.

So I discarded it.

During my next trip to the supermarket I bought fresh coriander and proudly put it in our salad.

I was surprised to find out the same outcome.

An horrible taste of soap.

I always wondered why everybody thought it was so good!!!

Until I found in search for DNA.

I found this article

"As many as one in five people says that coriander has a soapy taste. This is likely to be due to a super-sensitivity to chemicals called aldehydes, which are present in coriander and are also used to perfume soaps and detergents."
